    Our  experienced staff are fully committed to helping you every step of the way when finding your new home.  The more information you can give us to explain exactly what you are looking for and what is on your wish list will assist us in helping you to find your ideal home.  The first thing we recommend is to consider what your priorities are - location, number of bedrooms, size of lounge, budget etc. 

    Once we have matched your requirements with available properties we will always go the extra mile to be as flexible as possible when it comes to conducting viewings. We understand it isn’t always easy to view during office hours. There is a high demand for our rental properties therefore the best properties are snapped up quickly. It pays to be prepared to take viewings at short notice so you don't miss out on securing your perfect property.

    You can rest assured that any property you decide to rent through Thorntons will be provided in good, clean condition and compliant with repairing standards and safety regulations.

    Your deposit is protected

    A deposit, normally the equivalent to one month rent is payable prior to the start of a tenancy.  It is a legal requirement that the tenancy deposit is registered with a Government approved deposit scheme, we use Safe Deposits Scotland. The scheme gives both the landlord and the tenant peace of mind that the deposit monies have been lodged in safe hands.

    Before you move in to your new home the Landlord will usually have an independent inventory prepared. This document describes the condition of the property and its contents at the beginning of your tenancy. An independent check out report is also arranged at the end of your tenancy and the two documents are compared to ensure that the condition that you leave it in can be fairly assessed against any deposit deductions that may be proposed.

    Insurance

    Your landlord is responsible for insuring the building and their possessions but you are responsible for arranging your own contents insurance.
